Finishing up Thanksgiving weekend

Jake has been asking us about going skating every time he remembers that it's been over a month that he has not been. So we took the family out for a few hours of skate time. He's getting really good out on the floor and very daring. He loves the inline skates a whole lot, I think mostly because they are much cooler than the two by two wheel skates that Sydney and I still choose to wear.

Courtney has her inlines from a couple of years back so she's automatically promoted to cool status.

I can't really skate like I use to, certainly not as fast on the feet. But I can still keep up with Jake, at least until he figures out how to really get moving which won't take long. Courtney is much better at it and gives Jake a run for his money. :)

I'm more Sydney's pace. We meandered out onto the floor for two games. One was Wipe-Out and the other Dice (courtney came out for this one). The game of Wipe-Out was pretty uneventful except I fell really hard the two times during the game. Sydney escaped relatively unscathed. During the Dice game I did accidentally bash into her. She forgave me immediately after she whipped me at air hockey.

It was a really good time. I'm sure we'll be back again. Right Jake?! :)

If you're curious about the rules to either game, venture out to your local skating rink and hang out for a session or ask one of those kiddos that's skating circles around you.
